Because I have a license. That's right. I went on Friday to take my test, which was extremely nerve-racking.
I had to do a three point turn, parking, reversing, and I had to drive through a parking lot. Let me tell you, I thought I failed from the start. Turns out we were parked in the wrong section. Then, when I was driving through the parking lot with the guy in the car, he screamed at me to slow down while I was going through puddles. Then when I parked I could have sworn that I hit one of the poles. My three point turn was more like a five point turn. And driving through the parking lot was no slice of pie either.
Oh well. It's done and I have that thin little piece of plastic that grants me almost ultimate freedom (a little exaggerated, yes, but that's how I feel.)
In other news, I now have a streak of bright pink going through my hair. Sadly, mama B was not so pleased. I actually felt like she didn't want to even look at me. But I think she's grown to it.
Of course, though, going to the mailbox when I got home resulted in a letter describing the regulations for summer school. Last on the list? NO MULTI-COLORED HAIR. So that was just perfect. I'm still angry. My plan is to enjoy the pink for the week I have until S.S. starts and then dye MOST of it brown. I'm definitely leaving a bit. I can't completely let $25 go down the drain!
Before I depart, I ask you to wish me luck on my first "alone" driving trip tomorrow...on my way to volunteering.
