One of the artists I really admire is Claudine Hellmuth. She has a wonderful style and I really love her collage pieces. They are interesting and so fun. I check her blog frequently, and occasionally she will do something called a podcast, where she creates a collage with a specific theme in a 20 minute period, all the while talking about what she is doing with her husband (who is tracking the time and asking questions). She also challenges others to create a collage with the same theme and then submit. The most recent podcast was yesterday, and the theme was FRIEND. This is my entry. I recently purchased a cabinet card with this photo, and thought it fit the theme really well. I imagined these ladies just finishing lunch or tea, catching up on everything going on in their lives, and dishing a bit of gossip. The admit one ticket was added to show that frequently, a person has just one best friend. The biggest challenge for me was choosing just the right papers, but that is always a big challenge for me.
On another note, Blair's basketball game was intesting to say the least. The game was scheduled to start at 4:45, but for whatever reason, we did not even start til 6pm. Then we played a travel team who was terrific (and really kicked our butts), but the parents gave the ref tons of grief and were so obnoxious. Then after the game, our girls said the other team constantly talked trash to them (which is something we do not permit our girls to do), and they had the nerve to tell us we were playing too rough. One of the moms from the other team almost got in a fight with one of our moms, and they another mom came down on our coach. She told him our girls need to get used to hearing trash talk. Luckily, Blair did not play a whole lot, but I was glad, because it was a pretty rough game, but not just by our girls. I am hoping we don't have to play this team again since the season is almost over.
Got a chance to rent several movies over the weekend. First was Capote. Interesting, and I fell asleep about halfway thru, so I had to finish it last night. Not one of my favorites. We also rented Narnia, the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe. I really liked it and would recommend it, but I don't think Blair was as interested in it as I was.
I love all the different papers you used and the dresses are too die for. Love this piece.
